Free Standardized Work Combination Sheet Template

A lean production standardized work combination sheet for documenting operator work elements with manual time, machine auto time, and walk time at each step. Includes a cumulative cycle time column, takt time reference, and cycle vs. takt summary to verify operator load balance. Generates instantly in your browser as a ready-to-print PDF.

How to use this template

  1. Complete the process header — fill in process name, part number, takt time, work sequence number, and operator name.
  2. Observe and time each work element — time-study the operation and break it into the smallest observable steps. Use a stopwatch or video analysis.
  3. Enter manual and auto times — for each step, record the manual work time (operator active) and machine auto time (operator waiting) in seconds.
  4. Record walk time — capture the travel time between steps. Even short walks accumulate to non-value-added time.
  5. Calculate cumulative cycle time — add manual + auto + walk for each element and carry the running total. The final row is your total cycle time.
  6. Compare cycle time vs takt time — fill in the summary section. Cycle time must be at or below takt time to meet customer demand. Flag overload conditions.
  7. Approve and post at the workstation — supervisor and IE/process engineer sign off. Post visually at the cell for operator reference and audit use.

Takt time reminder: Takt time = Available production time divided by customer demand. If cycle time exceeds takt time, the operator cannot meet demand without overtime or rebalancing. Use this sheet to identify which elements to kaizen first.
